Olmia Academy. It always seemed far away, like an impossible dream. Defeat was crushing, but this time, there was hope. Trinity. You’d heard the rumors, sure, but they were just rumors. Why would they be interested in Olmia Academy? It seemed so silly, but for one reason or another, you replied. You said yes. Thinking back, you remember the message quite well… After you replied, they said your first mission would be given to you when you arrived at Olmia, but you’ve been standing around for close to twenty minutes. Come to think of it...that guide Olmia Academy promised would show you around on your first day isn’t here yet either...The main lobby is very nice, much better than anything you’re used to. Lux was known for it’s luxury, but you don’t experience it much when you’re forced to live in it’s shadow. This place felt warm and comforting, despite the chill in the air. As the minutes pass, your phone buzzes. It’s a message from an unrecognized number. Just like when Trinity first contacted you….Looking at the message, it says the following, with a picture attached. In three minutes, a woman comes from down a hallway, her heels clicking as she walks. She carries a clipboard and quickly asks, “Vess Li?”The woman has short, light pink hair. You’d describe the color as bubblegum pink. Her eyes are blue, and she looks very young. If she’s older than you, it can’t be by more than a few years. The look on her face is one of superiority. You’ve seen it many times. Just by that look, you can tell she’s probably Imperian. Just when you thought you were free.. Normally, she would be your height, but her heels make her tower over you. She wears a black pencil skirt, black blazer, and a light pink blouse matching her hair. She looks very well put together, like all Imperians do. No amount of expensive clothes and accessories can hide what’s inside, though. At her side, a well-groomed four legged pokemon stands, with the same look. It’s pink and white, with large blue eyes. It even has ribbons that seem to actually be a part of its body. The more you look at it, the more you realize that it looks as if it were ready for a contest. Of course it is. Why wouldn’t an Imperian want to be ready to prove they’re superior at any given moment? It has on a light pink pinstripped vest, and has similarly colored booties. Please roll Perception and Gen Ed. Guide PicThe DC to recognize the Sylveon is 5. Please roll Poke Edu.

Vess waits patiently as the time slowly ticks on. She was used to people not respecting her time. At this point, it barely even registered in her mind that this was something out of the ordinary, the people in her life had always walked over, so this wasn't any different. Absentmindedly, she stared around at the posh surroundings. She was always used to glimpses of the decadence, now she was going to experience first hand. Oh well, better than the hellhole she had come from. She yawned and rubbed her eyes before shoving her hands into the front pocket of her fraying hoodie. She hadn't gotten much sleep on the trip, and she was certain it showed in the dark circles under her eyes. Her father had gotten angry at her before she had left, claiming that she had stolen the money that she had saved up for the trip here. Luckily, she had managed to dodge the drunken fist he had sent her way before he had kicked her out and told her to never return, a black eye most certainly wouldn't have made a good impression. At least it was the last time she would ever have to go back there. When her phone buzzed, she looked down at her center pocket with a look of mild surprise. That was odd, no one ever texted her. She pulled it out of her pocket somewhat apathetically and flipped the old flip phone open, squinting to make out the message through her own tiredness and the dusty and cracked screen. She blinked for a moment and read it through once more, grumbling as the phone took a solid minute to download the image at a painfully slow pace. When it finally did, she committed the image to memory and shoved the phone back in her pocket, eyes peeled for her guide. Any minute now... As the pinkness entered from the hallway, Vess closed her eyes and rolled them underneath, so as not to be rude. Oh gods, the school had seen Imperian and assumed she was a stuck up rich kid like the rest of them. Well, sorry to disappoint, but all the money in her family line dried up a few generations ago. She opened her eyes again and stood up a bit straighter from the slouch she had caught herself in and began looking the woman up and down, getting a read on her and trying to find the pin Trinity had talked about. At least not everything was pink, right? Oh gods even the pokemon was pink, dear gods above and below, why on earth... For all the mental drama going on in her head, Vess kept a very composed, if tired, look, a dead stare in her eyes. As she speaks up, she reaches down to pick up her backpack which contains the entirety of her life in it. "Yes, that's me." Perception! S78BbhA83d6

Looking over the symbol, it doesn’t seem like something out of the ordinary. It might not even be connected to Trinity at all. Looking at your guide, it may just be some sort of fashion label. You didn’t even recognize the Pokemon. It was just too pink to even make out what it might be. You see what looks like a sparkle coming from somewhere in your guide's hair. The woman scribbles a few things down on her clipboard, clicks her tongue, and quickly turns, starting to walk away at a fast pace. “Keep up, please. We’ll be moving quickly to cover everything, so keep pace.”
Following her, she leads you into a large gym. The room has lots of equipment, including weapons, items, ropes, obstacles, and much more. Clearly, there is a focus on fitness here, as it looks quite well used, but in good condition. “This is the gym. Your physical education and battling classes will be taking place here. Got it? Good.” Without waiting for a reply, she turns around, stalking off once again. Please roll Perception.

Vess slings the bag over her shoulder and starts walking quickly behind the woman. Despite her appearance, Vess could appreciate her efficiency. If the woman wanted to do all of the talking herself, that was fine by her. In the meantime, she needs to figure out how she was going to go about getting the pendant. Well, first things first, try to identify how it was in the woman's hair. Hopefully it was simple so that she could just pull it out in one swift motion, but that would most likely be far too easy. She also took a moment to quickly take a glance at the pokemon walking besides the woman. Hopefully it was paying about as much attention to her as its trainer was, but hoping gets you nowhere and it would be far better to know. As to her actual tour... Vess didn't particularly have much of a reaction to the gym. Her entire exposure to exercise equipment was the barbels that her father had never used. It looked functional, at the very least, but if she wanted to work out, she would much prefer to simply go on a run. As the woman turned on her heel and began stalking off, Vess was right behind her. The faster she could get the pin, finish the tour, and get the offensive amount of pink out of her sight, the better. Perception #2! A6eeWkNi3d63d6

Next, the woman continues back the way you came, this time heading the other way down the hallway. As you follow, you notice her Pokemon is about as interested in you as she is. Her hair catches the light once more, and while you don’t see the source, you see that familiar glint once more. Walking into the room across the hallway, you see a large contest hall. The room is sparse and without many decorations. The curtains are a deep blue with snowflakes embroidered on them, but there isn’t much else making it “pretty”. For a school priding itself on such luxury, it’s contest hall and stage are quite lacking. “This is our stage and contest halls. Drama Club uses it along with our contests, if you couldn’t figure it out.” She says, not giving you much time to take in the room before walking away once more. If you're still looking for the pin, please roll Perception.

At this point, Vess could care less about the tour, especially this portion. Contests held little interest to her. Prissy things for rich boys and girls to play dress up and claim it was "art" and they had "talent". What a waste of time. What did interest her was this pin. She could just barely see it, but location wasn't enough. After all, if it was fastened too tightly, she'd have to pull out a chunk of the woman's hair to get it, and she had a slight feeling that it wouldn't be the most subtle of methods. So, she continued staring at the back of this woman's head. After all, there was no harm in it as long as the woman didn't have eyes their. As they continued along at a brisk pace, Vess tried to formulate a plan that wasn't as simple as "grab it and hope she doesn't notice". Mentally toying with an idea, she began paying close attention to the rooms they entered, looking for ones with no light sources besides the overhead lights, with light switches close to the door. If she played it right, she might be able to pull it off... Perception, please don't fail me now... Uxag3cta3d6+1 (Spending one AP on this roll)

After the contest hall, the woman walks you up some stairs. She doesn’t notice your staring, probably because she’s too wrapped up in her own life. While you look at her, you notice exactly where the pin is. Slightly behind her left ear, there’s a bobby pin with the pin attached to it. Now that you’ve found it, the only question is how you’re going to get it.
As you go up the stairs, you stick your hand in your pocket and feel something cold and hard. Taking it out to examine it, you realize it’s your pocket-knife. You bought it for protection a while ago, but it seems you forgot about it. If Olmia was as good as it claimed to be, you wouldn’t need it here anyway. Unless…
Upon reaching the second floor, your guide points to the left, and then the right. “Classrooms are over there and there.” She walks behind a staircase to find a door. The door opens to reveal a large library. There are lamps everywhere, but none of them are turned on, just the overhead lights. The switch for these is conveniently close, and is within arm’s length of the doorway.
“This is the library. I’m sure you know what a library is for. We’ll take a break for a moment to answer any questions you have.”

Vess quietly follows the woman. As she finds the pocket knife in her pocket, a plan begins to formulate itself. It was a very basic misdirection ploy with the stereotypical action of bumping into the other person, but if she played it off right and preyed on her targets expectations, it could work. After all, she was just a poor girl, poor people always used worn out things prone to breaking, right? Well then, if she made something of hers break to help sell her misdirection, the woman would probably lean on her stereotypes and forget the more important thing: the pin. Now all she had to do was make something break. She looked over the library with mild interest, never having been exposed to one as well stocked as this one. She'd be back soon, that was most certain. She was mildly shocked when the woman stopped for a moment to answer answer any questions she may have had, but the blank, tired expression on her face barely changed as she stared directly into the woman's eyes. "No questions. Everything seems rather straightforward."If that answer satisfied the woman and she began to move on again, Vess would hang back in the doorway for a second and pull out her pocket knife, slipping the left loop of her backpack down her arm until the top was loose. Then she began quickly sawing away at the already frayed fabric, cutting it until only a few threads held it on. Then, she slipped the knife back into her pocket and would catch up to her guide, being careful not to break the strap too early. Stealth to cut the strap without being noticed: ucaFE0RY3d6

As you stop in the library, you get a moment to see how advanced it truly is. The library is quite large with tables, bookcases, and the latest in computing technology. One of them even has a fancy holographic screen! You’ve only read about those in books! A small office sits off to the size, and you can guess this is where the librarian’s office is. You don’t get to admire it for long, though, because the woman quickly says, “Good. It should be. Let’s move on.”Right before you head up to the next floor, you execute your plan. You easily knock her down before she even realizes what’s going on. You’re determined though, and you grab the pin in the commotion. When you pull it out, you think she may’ve realized what’s going on, but it’s too late now. After everything is said and done, she stands, brushing herself off, and she looks at you with a burning hatred. “How did you even get into this school,” She demands. “If you ever pull anything like that again, it won’t end up well for you.”
Just then, you get a message on your phone. I'll let you fluff it how you want, so I'm just letting you know exactly what checks you passed and which you failed in case it wasn't obvious. You passed the first stealth check, the trip itself, the guile check, and the focus check. You only failed the second stealth check to take the pin. You took it, but she noticed.

As they walk out of the library, Vess takes a mental inventory to make sure she was ready. Realizing that she had already performed all the setup she could, she decided that now was as good as ever, and didn't let her nerves have a chance to surface. They had no place in this situation. She took in a quick breath, and off she went. She pulled hard on her backpack on the left side and there was an audible ripping noise as it snapped. The momentum of the suddenly loosened bag carried it around her back and straight into Prissy-in-Pink's back, and the heavy bag carried Vess with it. As the bag and the two woman collide, the whole pile collapses into a surprisingly color coordinated mess of black and pink sprawled across the floor. The two didn't look too bad together with a little bit of intimacy injected into the situation. Even as they're falling, Vess feels the pin in her fingers and grabs on tightly to it. As she pulls tightly on it, she winces slightly as she feels a few strands of hair snap with it. In her excitement at everything going according to plan, she had pulled too hard. Well, damn, but at this point she had the pin in her hands, so victory was hers. As she stood up, she made sure to push off of the body of the other woman to stand. A few extra seconds staring at the floor could probably do her personality some good. Then, she casually picked her backpack up off the floor as if nothing had happened, ripping off the strap as she does so. "Don't make bags like they used to. A shame." She doesn't even look at the woman as she walks over to a nearby trashcan and throws away the now useless strap, a smirk of victory on her face growing ever larger at the woman's statements of indignation. As her phone buzzes, she pulls it out of her pocket and snaps it open, a loud crack filling the air as she does so. She reads over the message for a moment before snapping her phone closed once more. She turns around, slinging her new one-strap backpack over her shoulder as she does so. Having already savored her victory, the blank look has returned as she stares down the woman. "I got into this school because I don't care about stepping on whoever may get in my way. Now, how about you finish my tour?" She pauses for a moment, then steps forwards and puts a hand on the woman's shoulder, speaking in a condescendingly congratulatory tone. "Oh, and according to a friend on the phone, you're living up to your name. Good for you! We're all so proud." She then removes her hand and stares at the woman expectantly, making a hand motion indicating her to lead the way. Victory high intimidate cause why not go! BP0ra_7G2d6 I wish I had the AP to spend on boosting this.

Hearing your comment, the now standing woman sneers. You hear her whisper under her breath, “Janus, I’m going to kill you.”As you taunt the woman, her Pokemon looks it you. It runs at you, jumps, and kicks you square in the chest. It knocks the wind out of you for a moment, but only for a moment. The pokemon then rubs itself on it’s owner’s legs, looking for approval. “Clarity. Don’t lower yourself to her level.”It seems as though she can’t think of a proper comeback, and she simply scowls at you before continuing up the stairs. She doesn’t even stop at the next floor. “Classrooms.”On the floor after that, though, she does stop. “A few things here of note.” She points to a room on the left. “Rec room. Next to that, staff break room.” She points to the right. “Office, office, staff bathroom, and that there? That’s the Elite Four and High Coordinator office for when they come to visit. Don’t touch it.” She points behind you. “Cafeteria.”You take 23 Physical damage.

As the pink monstrosity attacks her, Vess doubles over for a moment as the wind is knocked out of her. When she comes back up though, there's a smirk of victory on her face. She had taken far worse hits, and for someone who was supposed to be in a position of authority to resort to violence like that, even if it was an independent action of her pokemon? It means she had hit a nerve. In her mind, she had won, and that was more than good enough for her. As she watches the woman struggle to come up with a comeback, the obnoxious smirk on Vess's face grows only larger, taunting the woman even further. Vess continues the next part of the tour in relative silence once again, but the smirk remains on her face, replacing the tired deadness of before. As she points out a few different things on the third floor, Vess pays attention somewhat, but her main focus remains just staring at Prissy-in-Pink with her obnoxious smirk of victory, just to rub it in a little bit more. Guile roll just for fun to try and get further under her skin. iRXn42003d63d6

Vess can see that she’s gotten under the woman’s skin, as the woman and her pokemon give her death stares, but you seem to have shut her up for the most part.
At the top floor, she begrudgingly speaks to you once more. “We’re going back down. You get your pokemon now. A Tepig or a Swinub would fit you most excellently.”
When you get back to the first floor, she goes to a set of double doors, and unlocks them. After passing through those, she pushes another set of double doors open. You see a white and sterile room. People in labcoats mill about, dodging stainless steel tables and beakers. On the table in front of you sits a backpack and a single pokeball.
“Open it. We need to make sure there wasn’t an error or something.”

At the Tepig and Swinub line, Vess's smirk grows a little bit wider. She likes being under this woman's skin, it's amusing. "They'd be fine, but if I went with them, I feel like some people might think I was trying to copy your style, and we couldn't have that."
As they enter the lab, Vess's smirk has for the most part faded back to her normal blank expression. She looks around the lab with mild interest, having never particularly been in a place so clean and sterile in her life. It was nice. Perhaps a little bit overboard on the clean, but that's what you get with a laboratory space, she supposed. Overall, the general upgrade in cleanliness was not something she was going to complain about. She picks up the pokeball when told to and releases her Ferroseed onto the table in front of her, evaluating it with a critical stare.

You caught a Ferroseed! Everything in your bag is the stuff you already have in your inventory that the school gives out, like the Pokedex and Pokeballs, so don't worry about adding it. Releasing the pokemon, it just stares back at you. “Ferro Ferro”It stares at you for a bit longer, then seems to approve. It then decides to roll into your guide. “Ow! Tell it to stop!” She tries to pick it up and immediately has to drop it because of the spikes. “Make it stop!”
The pink vulpine Pokemon growls, and the Ferroseed just keeps rolling. “Ferro Ferro”It seems amused.

As the she has the staredown with the Ferroseed, she likes what she sees. She has had little experience with pokemon in her life, but she likes what she sees. It was everything she wanted, defensive, with a bit of bite as well. And it seemed it approved of her as well.
As it begins to roll into Prissy-in-Pink, she chuckles softly with an amused spark in her eye. She liked its sense of humor, and it seemed it liked PiP as much as she did. "But don't you have to be up close and personal to inspect it to make sure everything is in order?" Vess smirks a bit at her own jab, and then leans down next to the Ferroseed. "Come on Citadel, let's leave Miss Prissy-in-Pink alone for now. Besides, if she has to take much more today, her fragile little heart might just pop, and I wouldn't want to be kicked out on my first day for manslaughter, now would I?" She winks at the Ferroseed as she stands back up straight and gives it a few seconds to continue rolling into Pinky before recalling it to the pokeball before looking back to PiP with an expectant look.

The woman simply says, “hmph.” and quickly ushered you out of the room. She locks the door after you leave, and then leads you out into the campus. After exiting the building, the cold of Olmia shocks you. Impero was quite nice in it’s weather patterns. It was always pleasantly warm or pleasantly cold, not hypothermic! “Here is the Training facilities. For a fee of $500, the on-staff Trainers will train up to six Pokemon there.” She points out a blue building with white lettering on it, then moves to point at a similar building. “That one is the Grooming facilities. You can leave your Pokemon to be groomed there while you take classes or do other activities. If you’re looking for the pool, it’s in town. It’s also used by the community when school isn’t in session, and it keeps the campus from being too cramped."She leads you to a large building, and knocks on the door. A tall girl with short brown hair stands before you. She has brown eyes and freckles, and looks quite...normal. She has on a pair of black shorts and a plain white shirt. In this weather? How is she staying warm? “Yo.” She answers. “This is Vess Li. She’ll be staying here.”“Sounds good! C’mon in, girl!” The girl says happily, then ushers you in. The room is large, but quite quaint. There’s a small kitchenette off to the side with a bar style counter-top and stools. Further in the room is a large seating area with couches, recliners, and a fireplace. Above the fireplace is a large television, and next to the fireplace is a singular holographic computer. Lamps and tasteful throw blankets adorn the room, but it has mostly been left empty to allow the students to decorate. A bunch of suitcases litter the room, some of them yours. There’s a hallway on the left that you assume leads to the rooms. “Everyone, welcome our new dorm-buddy, Vess!” The girl says. All of them murmur a bit, waiting for you to speak. Looking over the second girl, you can tell she’s kind of the mousey type. Glasses, long blonde hair, conservative clothes; the usual. Maybe it'd be nice to be around someone quiet for once. She has on an oversized, grey, cable-knit sweater and some black ombre leggings that fade to grey. The fourth girl caught your attention, if not only because of her chest but because of the smile on her face and her tan skin. She isn’t from Impero, that’s for sure. She simply has on a lime green jacket and a pair of jeans. She seems very upbeat and positive. The third girl, looked extremely Imperial. Out of the frying pan, into the fire...The girl wore a double-breasted white blazer, with black detailing and red trim. At the ends of the sleeves, there lacy ruffles. Under that, she wore a gray blouse with a red piece of fabric around the collar. She wears a very short blue skirt and white thigh-highs, making you wonder how in the world she’s surviving. Her silver hair is up in twintails and a small beret finishes off the outfit.

Vess barely pays attention to the rest of the tour. Pay for training? Why? Grooming? Maybe as a treat. Looking for a pool? Why would she be doing that? She had already experienced the temperature a slight amount, but she shivered slightly, even through her hoodie. She was used to cold, but nothing this cold. It'd take a bit of getting used to, that was for sure. Until then, she'd just have to bear it. As the door opens and the normal looking girl is revealed, Vess breathes an internal sign of relief. Finally, relief from the great offensive Pinkness. She would have been fine with anyone even vaguely non-Imperian looking, so that fact that she liked the look of this girl was an added bonus. She wasn't used to cheerful people in her background, so the girl's cheeriness made her blink in mild surprised. As Vess steps into the building and out of the cold, she feels some of the tension lift from her shoulders. She hadn't realized how tense she had been, but thinking about it, it wasn't very surprising. Having the sudden test thrown on her, plus having to deal with the Imperian woman had stressed her out far more than she had realized. As she looked around, she couldn't help but appreciate the interior. The kitchenette was far better than the once at home was, and it was actually clean. That's something she wasn't sure she would ever get used to. The chairs and furniture of the living room seemed new and comfy instead of threadbare, and was that a fireplace? People actually had those? She hadn't realized... And they had their own holographic computer too? She could understand having one in the library, but wasn't that going a little bit far? Well, if she was going to be provided all these luxuries, she supposed she couldn't complain, but it was all rather jarring at the moment. She was snapped out of her staring by the command for everyone to welcome her. She waited a few moments, but they seemed to be expecting her to go first. Fine welcome that was. She looked over them quickly with her typical blank, bored, slightly disapproving resting-bitchface as was the norm. Great, looked like there was an Imperian in the group. She could never escape them, could she. Well, she supposed she could get this over with. As she spoke, she tried to hide her Imperian accent. She had never had a very strong accent in the first place, but it was still noticeable. For this situation, she did not want to be associated with them. Too many stereotypes that wouldn't fit her at all. "Hey, I'm Vess." She doesn't particularly feel inclined to share more, especially not if they weren't going to give her anything themselves. In the meantime, she takes a little more time to observe them all, looking for anything of note and trying to read their first reactions to her. Guile to disguise her accent! Lnof5|D13d6

Intuition to gauge their reactions! Although I can guess at least one of them... 2d63d6·3d6·2d6

“Hey Vess! I’m Anna! Nice to meet you.” The girl who let you in says, reaching out to shake your hand. As you do, you notice she has a strong grip. She’s probably used to working. Looking her over again confirms this, as you see the slight muscles she has. She doesn’t seem to react badly to meeting you.
“My name is Adora. I guess I’m the de-facto dorm mom, so if ya need anythin’ from me, just give me a holler!” The tan girl says. Listening to her speech, you think you can place her accent as Solean. That would make sense, considering her skin color. She seems happy, as far as you can tell.
“Yuki. Don’t wear it out.” The silver-haired girl doesn’t even look up. She seemed to buy that you weren’t Imperian, so she isn’t paying any attention to you. She seems kind of annoyed that you’re even in the same room as her.
“I’m...Elizabeth…” The blonde girl says. Her voice was quiet, almost like a whisper. As she speaks, you can see her start to blush before she quickly looks back down to the floor. You think she may be Imperian from her accent, but you can’t tell if you’re just hearing things or not.
“So, Vess, what’d you get for a starter?” Anna asks.

When Anna reaches out to give her a firm handshake, Vess gives a rather firm one back. No reason not to be polite, after all. She liked the look of her, and she seemed friendly enough. Adora gives a similar impression, nice, friendly, slightly outgoing, and someone she'd like to know more. The disinterest of Yuki pleased her almost more than anything else. The more she could stay out of sight and out of mind of other Imperians, the better. Hopefully she'd get bored and leave soon. As for Elizabeth, Vess took a few extra seconds to observe her carefully. If she was Imperian, she certainly didn't own it like most others did, which was a good thing. Furthermore, she was a quiet one, and Vess had always felt a special liking for softer, quieter people. There was something inherently different and refreshing about them compared to the brash, insensitive, outgoing personalities of most Imperians. She hoped she'd get a chance to know her better.
As Anna begins to ask her question, Vess finds a good place on the ground to set down her two backpacks, then goes over to an area near Elizabeth and leans against the back of a couch, turning to face Anna again. "Ferroseed. I'd show you, but he'd probably dent or tear something to shreds, so..." She shrugs for a moment. "You?"
